Our History


KRES founded to spread Kannada language, and now it spreads Commerce, Arts & Science streams.

  1. The Begining of an Era.

    In whole Bidar district was only one Kannad school upto 1st-7th standard, it was started by Late. Shri. Shivrudrappa Halhalli and student strength was 154.

  2. Karnataka Govt. named KRES.

    Karnataka Govt. accorded registration to this society under the name of "KARNATAK RASHTRIYA EDUCATION SOCIETY BIDAR" with registration No. 2082/58-59.

  3. Established Karnatak Highschool Bidar.

    Under the able leadership of Shri R. V. Bidap opened 8th std. during the year 1955-56. Subsequently 9th std. was also opened during 1956-57, like was 10th std., was opened during 1957-58.

  4. Established Commerce College Bidar.

    On the eve of Internation Education Year, as the U.N.O. completed its 25 years, the KRES Bidar established Karantak Commerce College with a meagre strenght of 69 students with P.U.C. Commerece and B.Com. I year.

  5. Vocational (Job Oriented) Courses.

    KRE Bidar once again came forward in introducing the Vocational Courses attached with Karnatak Arts, Science & Commerce College Bidar in the year 1979.

  6. Established Karnatak Law College Bidar.

    During the first year of the College 232 students were admitted and year by year the admissions are increasing. Now it is a full fledged college with a modern library and adequate number of books and highly qualified staff.

  7. M. H. Goel Institute of Pharmacy.

    In hard time of this institute Shri. Harishchandra Goel (Vice-President KRES, Bidar) a local reputed businessman and a great Philanthropist came forward to donate Rs. One Lakh for establishment of this Institute. Looking into his generousity, the management of KRES, Bidar resolved to name the Institute in memory of his late father Shri. Madan Mohan Goel (One of the founder member of KR Vidyalaya, Bidar). This Institute is named as "M.H. GOEL INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY BIDAR."
